Caring for the instruments that gave our villages their voice
We are a small association with a long horizon: every organ we save is meant to be heard by people who are not born yet.
Spolek pro obnovu varhan v Načeradci is an officially registered Czech non-profit association (IČO: 04849761). Founded by passionate community advocates, historians and music enthusiasts, our association works tirelessly to rescue, restore and maintain historical pipe organs in Načeradec and neighbouring regions.
Pipe organs are irreplaceable monuments of European cultural craftsmanship. A single instrument can hold the work of a joiner, a metalworker, a leather worker and a voicer, all coordinated by a builder who never expected to be remembered. When such an instrument falls silent, a piece of local memory goes quiet with it. We bring these magnificent instruments back to life to inspire local citizens, host community concerts and safeguard regional acoustic history for generations to come.
Our members are volunteers: teachers, church wardens, retired engineers, students and organists. We are not a commercial workshop and we do not compete with restorers — we raise funds, prepare documentation, coordinate surveys and make sure the professionals who do the delicate work are properly briefed and properly paid.

A culturally vibrant society where historic musical instruments are fully preserved as living treasures, fostering intergenerational appreciation for music, art and regional heritage.
How we work
- 1Survey and documentationA qualified restorer and an organ historian inspect the instrument, photograph it and record its condition, builder and alterations.
- 2Public discussionWe present the findings to the parish, the municipality and residents before anything is decided.
- 3Funding and permitsWe apply for grants, run community fundraising and obtain the heritage approvals required by Czech law.
- 4Restoration and returnCertified craftspeople carry out the work; the instrument is then handed back with a public concert and a written report.
